Christof Brandtner

Christof Brandtner is an organizational and economic sociologist (PhD 2019, Stanford University) and an Associate Professor at emlyon. He is a senior research fellow at the Civic Life of Cities Lab at Stanford and a fellow of the Mansueto Institute for Urban Innovation at the University of Chicago. With one foot in institutional theory, Christof studies how organizations respond to social, technological, and environmental challenges and thus affect resilience, integration, and inequality. His research combines econometric analyses with interviews, experiments, and computational methods. Christof is completing a book about cities’ climate change strategies whenever he is not, due to a tragic misinterpretation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s Little Prince, trying to tame his small parrots.
